{"id":1766,"date":"2012-10-19T13:37:31","date_gmt":"2012-10-19T13:37:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hypersync.net\/wordpress\/?p=1766"},"modified":"2012-10-19T13:37:31","modified_gmt":"2012-10-19T13:37:31","slug":"crisis_in_american_christianit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hypersync.net\/wordpress\/?p=1766","title":{"rendered":"Crisis in American Christianity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I suggest that the primary problem that is at the heart of the creeping<br \/>\ncrisis in American Christianity is a spiritual one &#8211; not merely<br \/>\nfinancial or lack of members or the presence of young people or<br \/>\nunresponsive structures or antiquated thinking (1960&#8217;s and 1970&#8217;s<br \/>\nthinking, that is the antiquated thinking I&#8217;m writing about), but a<br \/>\nspiritual problem.<\/p>\n<p>What is the single thing that the Christian<br \/>\nChurch provides humanity that no other organization or institution or<br \/>\nsystem offers?&nbsp; It is squarely Jesus Christ! Redemption &#8211;&nbsp; forgiveness,<br \/>\nhealing, and restoration between God and the rest of humanity.&nbsp; That&#8217;s<br \/>\nit.&nbsp; Period.<\/p>\n<p>The Christian Church is not needed for social work,<br \/>\npolitical activism, justice seeking, or most anything else, except new<br \/>\nlife in Christ.
