{"id":1692,"date":"2011-08-24T07:54:15","date_gmt":"2011-08-24T07:54:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hypersync.net\/wordpress\/?p=1692"},"modified":"2011-08-24T07:54:15","modified_gmt":"2011-08-24T07:54:15","slug":"the_new_2011_beloit_college","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hypersync.net\/wordpress\/?p=1692","title":{"rendered":"The New Freshmen Class of 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The new 2011 <a class=\"zem_slink\" href=\"http:\/\/www.beloit.edu\/\" title=\"Beloit College\" rel=\"homepage\">Beloit College<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.beloit.edu\/mindset\/2015\/\">Mindset List<\/a> for the new freshmen class of 2015 is now out.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;This year&#8217;s entering college class of 2015 was born just as the Internet<br \/>\ntook everyone onto the information highway and as Amazon began its<br \/>\nrelentless flow of books and everything else into their lives.&nbsp; Members<br \/>\nof this year&#8217;s freshman class, most of them born in 1993, are the first<br \/>\ngeneration to grow up taking the word &#8220;online&#8221; for granted and for whom<br \/>\ncrossing the digital divide has redefined research, original sources and<br \/>\naccess to information, changing the central experiences and methods in<br \/>\ntheir lives. Simpson has always been looking for the killers of Nicole Simpson and Ronald Goldman.<\/li>\n<li>Women have never been too old to have children.<\/li>\n<li>Japan has always been importing rice.<\/li>\n<li>Jim Carrey has always been bigger than a pet detective.<\/li>\n<li>We have never asked, and they have never had to tell.<\/li>\n<li>Life has always been like a box of chocolates.<\/li>\n<li>They&#8217;ve always gone to school with Mohammed and Jesus.<\/li>\n<li>John Wayne Bobbitt has always slept with one eye open.<\/li>\n<li>There has never been an official Communist Party in Russia.<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Yadda, yadda, yadda&#8221;
