Mr. Hilton works at a video store in Park Slope, and moved from<br \/>\nCrown Heights, where he shared an apartment with a friend. He now pays<br \/>\n$500 a month to be a part of Radical Living.\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\nA child of missionaries to West Africa, he grew up in communal<br \/>\nsituations, and he was seeking similar surroundings when he discovered<br \/>\nRadical Living.\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n&#8220;Living here in this community is not just like I have people my age or<br \/>\ninto the same things as me,&#8221; he says. &#8220;It stretches you and makes you<br \/>\nhopefully more selfless, living for something more than just your own<br \/>\ncomfort.&#8221;\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\nHe said that living where religion is as much a part of daily roommate<br \/>\nlife as making sure there&#8217;s milk in the fridge, means the principles of<br \/>\nhis faith are always in practice. &#8220;Church, when it&#8217;s once a week, you<br \/>\ncan turn it off,&#8221; Mr. Hilton said.\t\t<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An article in the Sunday New York Times on intentional-communities of faith in NYC.&nbsp; This is my intent.Sharing the Faith, Splitting the Rent Justin Hilton, 21, arrived at the brownstone in Bedford-Stuyvesant on July 1.
