How generational is the change?  Here is a great piece by Derek Olson from his blog <a href=\"http:\/\/haligweorc.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Haligweorc<\/a> entitled <a href=\"http:\/\/haligweorc.wordpress.com\/2009\/06\/16\/the-episcopal-reform-of-the-reform\/\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;The Episcopal &#8216;Reform of the Reform&#8217;\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/a><br \/>\nHe writes:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p> I suggest that there is a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Spirit of \u00e2\u20ac\u02dc79\u00e2\u20ac\u00b3 that was born from and exists in parallel to the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Spirit of Vatican II.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d That is, the 1979 BCP embodied wide-spread changes that were rooted in the scholarship of the Liturgical Renewal that was embodied in Vatican II\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Novus Ordo liturgies. Like the Spirit of Vatican II, the Spirit of \u00e2\u20ac\u02dc79 has understood the generous freedoms and liberality of the \u00e2\u20ac\u02dc79 BCP as a authorization of liturgical license in general rather than a provision of space for legitimate options. Furthermore, I believe that this Spirit was not simply introduced in the texts but as part of a socio-liturgical movement.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In addition, he begins with the Roman Catholic Church and the place were the &#8220;reform of the reform&#8221; is well seen: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newliturgicalmovement.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">New Liturgical Movement<\/a> blog.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So, where is the future of The Episcopal Church going?
